The black exterior resists UV degradation and shop-bench abuse. Which Black Knight manifold should I pick?

Will this hose set fit my manifold?

If your manifold uses standard 1/4″ SAE service connections (which all Black Knight manifolds + most professional HVAC manifolds do — Yellow Jacket, Robinair, CPS, and others), yes. Check the hose length first: 3 ft for mini-split / tight equipment work, 5 ft for standard rooftop and condenser-pad service. The fitting tier (Premium Standard / Anti-Blowback / Ball-Valve / R-1234YF) determines what service the hoses are best suited for.

What does "Class 1.6" gauge accuracy mean?

Class 1.6 is the European Standard for analog pressure gauge accuracy — readings are within ±1.6% of full scale across the operating range. For a 500 PSI gauge, that's ±8 PSI. This is the professional service tier (Class 2.5 is consumer-grade, Class 1.0 is lab-grade). Class 1.6 gives you the precision needed for proper subcool / superheat charging without the cost of lab-grade gauges.

What refrigerants are these hoses rated for?

Dual Force hoses are pressure-rated for the full HFC / A2L / R-1234YF service range — 800 PSI working / 4,000 PSI burst handles R-410A, R-22, R-404A, R-134a, R-32, R-454B, R-407C, R-507, and more. The 4 HVAC tiers are configured for the HFC + A2L lineup; the R-1234YF SKU is dedicated to Mobile A/C with included Quick-Connect adapters. Hydrocarbon-certified service should use dedicated hydrocarbon-spec hoses — keep cross-contamination off the truck.

Can I use these hoses on a non-Black-Knight manifold?

Yes — standard 1/4″ SAE connections fit most professional HVAC manifolds (Yellow Jacket, Robinair, CPS, Imperial, and others). The Dual Force premium black braided construction often upgrades older manifolds' hose specs — you may notice fewer pinhole leaks, better UV resistance, and tighter fittings on disconnect than the OEM stock hoses.

When should I replace charging hoses?

Signs your hoses need replacement: (1) visible cracks, kinks, or bulges in the jacket, (2) refrigerant smell or oil seepage near the fittings, (3) needle fluctuation on the manifold during steady-state pressure (suggests micro-leak in hose), (4) fittings won't hold a positive seal under vacuum (won't pull below 500 microns), (5) color-coded indicator lines peel or fade beyond recognition. Annual replacement is standard practice on shops with high service-call volume.

Can I return an unused hose set?
