6 CFM dual-stage rotary vane — the two-stage design pulls a deeper ultimate vacuum than single-stage pumps, evacuating residential and light-commercial systems fast
Pulls down to 75 microns ultimate vacuum — well below the 500-micron threshold for a clean, moisture-free system that protects the compressor
Dual-voltage 115V / 230V, 50/60Hz — works on any service power worldwide. Gas-ballast valve clears moisture from the oil during deep pulls.
HCPRO-designed to Black Knight specifications and quality-control standards — engineered in Miami, built to spec by our manufacturing partner
Dual stage.
Dual voltage.
Deep vacuum.
The HCPRO Black Knight HCBK-6D is the dual-stage workhorse vacuum pump for HVAC and refrigeration service — 6 CFM free air displacement, 75-micron ultimate vacuum, dual-voltage 115/230V operation, and a gas-ballast valve for wet-system evacuation. Built for techs who evacuate every system to a clean, moisture-free deep vacuum before charging.
Dual-stage deep vacuum
The two-stage rotary vane design pulls a deeper ultimate vacuum (75 microns) than single-stage pumps — the first stage handles bulk evacuation, the second stage finishes the deep pull. That's the difference between a system that holds vacuum and one that comes back with moisture in it. 6 CFM free air displacement evacuates residential and light-commercial systems without waiting around.
Dual voltage, gas ballast valve
Dual-voltage 115V / 230V at 50/60Hz — runs on any service power, residential or commercial, US or international. The gas-ballast valve lets you purge moisture out of the pump oil mid-evacuation without stopping, keeping the oil clean and the pump pulling deep on wet systems.
No-mess oil drain, built to last
The no-mess oil drain empties spent oil cleanly without spilling down the housing — and you drain it hot, with no waiting for the pump to cool down, saving real time on every oil change. Oil-sealed rotary vane construction with a large sight glass to monitor oil level and condition at a glance. Aluminum housing keeps weight down for truck-to-rooftop hauling.

Does HCPRO warranty the products?
Yes — every HCPRO Black Knight product ships with a 1-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects under normal professional use. See our full warranty terms.
Which Black Knight vacuum pump should I pick?
HCEC-6S (6 CFM single-stage, 115V) is the economy choice for residential service. HCBK-6D (this pump — 6 CFM dual-stage, dual-voltage) is the workhorse for techs who want deeper vacuum and global voltage. HCBK-12DC (12 CFM sparkless BLDC, 15 micron) is the flagship for commercial volume and A2L / flammable refrigerant work.
Why does dual-stage matter?
A single-stage pump evacuates to roughly 75-150 microns realistically in the field. A dual-stage pump like the HCBK-6D uses two rotary vane stages in series — the first does bulk evacuation, the second finishes the deep pull — reaching a lower, more reliable ultimate vacuum. For systems where moisture removal matters (which is all of them), dual-stage pulls deeper and holds it better.
What's the gas-ballast valve for?
When you evacuate a wet system (moisture in the lines), water vapor condenses inside the pump and contaminates the oil — which kills your ultimate vacuum. The gas-ballast valve bleeds a controlled amount of air into the second stage during evacuation, carrying that moisture out with the exhaust before it condenses. Open it on wet pulls, close it for the final deep vacuum.
What oil does it use and how often do I change it?
Use ISO VG46 synthetic vacuum pump oil (we sell it in quart and gallon). The HCBK-6D holds 13.9 oz / 410 mL. Change the oil when it turns cloudy or milky (moisture contamination), after every heavily-contaminated system, or at minimum every 10-20 evacuations. Clean oil is the single biggest factor in how deep your pump pulls — the no-mess drain makes field changes quick.
Do I need a special hose for fast evacuation?
For fastest pull-down, use a 3/8″ high-flow evacuation hose (the Black Knight Dual Force 3/8″ hose) rather than a standard 1/4″ charging hose. The larger bore moves significantly more air per minute. The HCBK-6D has both 1/4″ and 3/8″ SAE intake fittings so you can run either. Pair with the Dual Force evacuation kit for the matched-spec setup.
Can I use this on R-410A and A2L systems?
R-410A and standard HFC refrigerants: yes. For A2L (R-32, R-454B) and flammable refrigerants, the safest choice is our HCBK-12DC sparkless BLDC pump — its brushless motor produces no sparks, eliminating ignition risk during evacuation of flammable refrigerant systems. The HCBK-6D uses a standard induction motor and is best kept to non-flammable HFC work.
Can I return an unused pump?
Yes — free returns within 30 days for unused pumps in original packaging with no oil added. Once oil has been added and the pump run, it's considered used. Read our full return policy.
