Why this oil

Cheap oil ruins

expensive pumps.

USA-manufactured synthetic vacuum pump oil engineered for HVAC, refrigeration, and lab vacuum work. Mineral oil oxidizes, foams, and traps moisture. Your $200 vacuum pump deserves better than the $5 oil from the auto-parts aisle — 3–5× longer life, deeper vacuum, less pump wear.

Synthetic by design

Resists oxidation, holds viscosity at high pump temperatures, and absorbs less moisture than mineral oil. The result: deeper vacuum, longer oil life (3–5×), reduced pump wear. Mineral oil starts breaking down after a few hours of operation; synthetic lasts dozens. Pulled the pump for a major job? Synthetic stays clear longer through the work cycle.

Anti-foam, anti-moisture

Anti-foam additive prevents cavitation during deep pulls — critical when you're chasing 500 microns on a humid day. Anti-corrosion package protects pump internals. Low moisture absorption means the oil doesn't load up with water from the system you just evacuated, so the next pull-down hits target faster.

USA-made, OEM-grade

Compatible with Robinair, Yellow Jacket, JB Industries, Fieldpiece, HCPRO HCBK/HCEC and most other rotary vane vacuum pumps. ISO VG 46 is the industry-standard spec — verify your pump's OEM call-out, but most HVAC vacuum pumps spec this exact grade. Manufactured in the United States to OEM vacuum pump lubricant performance standards.

Full Product Description

Synthetic vacuum pump oil ISO VG 46 engineered for HVAC, refrigeration, and laboratory vacuum work — the only chemistry that pulls deep vacuum without foaming, oxidizing, or trapping moisture. Cheap mineral oil ruins expensive pumps. Your $200 vacuum pump deserves better than $5 oil from the auto-parts aisle.

HCPRO Performance VPO-46 is a premium synthetic vacuum pump lubricant with viscosity index 118, ~46 cSt at 40°C, and ultra-low vapor pressure. The additive package combines anti-foam, anti-corrosion, anti-oxidation, and anti-wear chemistry specifically formulated for rotary-vane vacuum service. Compatible with Robinair, Yellow Jacket, JB Industries, Fieldpiece, HCPRO HCBK-12DC, HCEC-6S, and other rotary vane, scroll, piston, and diaphragm vacuum pumps.

Who this oil is for

HVAC service techs pulling refrigerant evacuations below 500 microns. Refrigeration contractors servicing commercial cold rooms and walk-ins. Mobile auto A/C technicians doing recharges. Lab technicians running rotary-vane vacuum equipment. Anyone whose pump cost more than $100 and whose customer expects a clean install.

When to use it

Change after every 1–3 evacuations or whenever the sight glass shows cloudy, dark, or contaminated oil. Always change before a deep-vacuum job (compressor burnout, large refrigeration system, A2L line set). Use at every vacuum pump oil change interval the OEM specifies — typically every 20–30 hours of run time for HVAC service pumps. ISO VG 46 is the industry-standard viscosity; verify your pump's spec sheet, but most HVAC vacuum pumps call for this exact grade.

Why synthetic instead of mineral pump oil

Synthetic oil resists oxidation, holds viscosity at high pump temperatures, and absorbs significantly less moisture than mineral. The result: deeper vacuum, 3–5× longer oil life, and reduced pump wear. Mineral oil starts breaking down within a few hours of operation — synthetic holds for dozens. Mineral foams during deep pulls and caps your achievable vacuum at ~1,000 microns; synthetic with low vapor pressure goes below 100 microns on a clean system.

Available in quart (32 oz) and gallon (128 oz) sizes, plus 2-pack, 4-pack, and 12-pack quart presentations for shops and high-volume service techs. Manufactured in the USA to OEM vacuum pump lubricant performance standards.

Common questions

Answers from the warehouse floor.

Does HCPRO warranty the products?

Yes — every HCPRO product ships with a 1-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects. We'll replace the bottle if it fails to meet stated specs under normal use. See our full warranty terms.

Why synthetic instead of mineral pump oil?

Synthetic oil resists oxidation, holds viscosity at high pump temperatures, and absorbs less moisture than mineral oil. The result: deeper vacuum, longer oil life (often 3–5× longer), and reduced pump wear. Mineral oil starts breaking down after a few hours of operation; synthetic lasts dozens. A $200 vacuum pump deserves better than the $5 oil from the auto-parts aisle.

How often should I change the oil?

Change after every 1–3 evacuations or whenever the sight glass shows cloudy, dark, or contaminated oil. After a major job (compressor burnout, large refrigeration system), change the oil before the next pull-down — contamination from the previous job will kill vacuum performance.

Will it work in my Robinair, Yellow Jacket, JB, or other brand pump?

Yes — ISO VG 46 is the industry-standard viscosity for HVAC vacuum pumps. Compatible with Robinair, Yellow Jacket, JB Industries, Fieldpiece, HCPRO HCBK/HCEC, and most other rotary vane vacuum pumps. Verify your pump's OEM spec — the vast majority call for ISO VG 46.

Can I mix it with my existing pump oil?

Don't mix — drain the old oil completely first. Mixing synthetic with mineral or another brand's synthetic can disrupt additive packages and reduce performance. A clean drain and refill takes 5 minutes. Run the pump for 30 seconds with the inlet open to flush residual oil, then drain and refill with fresh synthetic.

What's the shelf life?

3+ years unopened, stored in a cool dry place. Once opened, use within 12 months and keep the cap sealed — synthetic oils still absorb moisture from air (just much slower than mineral). Leaving half-bottles on the shelf for years degrades the additive package.

Does it support deep vacuum (below 500 microns)?

Yes — that's the design intent. Ultra-low vapor pressure is the spec that lets vacuum pumps pull below 500 microns and hit 100 microns or lower on a clean system. Mineral oil's higher vapor pressure caps the achievable vacuum. The anti-foam additive also prevents cavitation during deep pulls.

Will using HCPRO products void my OEM pump warranty?

No. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975, an OEM cannot void your factory warranty for using compatible aftermarket fluids. Our vacuum pump oil meets ISO VG 46 industry-standard performance specs. If a dealer pushes back, contact us and we'll send the documentation.

Can I return an unused bottle?

Yes — free returns within 30 days for unopened bottles in original packaging. Opened bottles can't be returned for resale (chemical product). Read our full return policy.

Do you offer bulk pricing for shops?

Yes — we already offer multi-packs (2-pack, 4-pack, 12-pack quart) at discounted rates on this page. For orders larger than that, email hcproproductsusa@gmail.com with your business details and we'll send a custom bulk quote within 24 hours.
