HCPro Tools by HVAC Application
Different systems, different tools. A mini-split service truck shouldn't have the same kit as a commercial rooftop install. This guide maps HCPro products to the actual jobs you do every day.
Mini-Split Systems
Mini-splits dominate residential ductless installs and retrofits. Common refrigerants: R-410A (older), R-32 (A2L, newer), R-454B. Service ports are 5/16" or 1/4". Charge sizes 1–4 lbs typical.
Recommended HCPro kit:
- HCEC-6S 6 CFM Vacuum Pump — pulls a mini-split in 10–15 minutes
- Quick-Y Adapter — bypass the manifold for half-time evacuation
- Valve Core Removal Tool — pull through, not around
- RPO-32 POE Oil — system refill (mini-split compressors typically 8–18 oz)
- ISO VG46 Vacuum Pump Oil
Residential Central AC (1.5–5 ton)
Standard split-system central AC. Common refrigerants: R-410A (existing fleet), R-454B (new equipment 2025+). Refrigerant charges 5–15 lbs typical.
Recommended HCPro kit:
- HCEC-6S 6 CFM Vacuum Pump — handles 5-ton systems in a single pull-down
- Quick-Y Adapter
- RPO-32 POE Oil (quart or gallon depending on system size)
- Flash Flush — mandatory after compressor burnout
- Valve Core Removal Tool
Light Commercial AC (5–10 ton)
Rooftop units, small commercial split systems, packaged units. Mostly R-410A, transitioning to R-454B/R-32 on new equipment.
Recommended HCPro kit:
- Step up to an 8–10 CFM vacuum pump for fastest pull-down on larger systems (HCEC-6S works well for under 8-ton)
- Quick-Y Adapter
- RPO-32 POE Oil (gallon size for larger refills)
- Flash Flush
Commercial Refrigeration
Walk-in coolers, freezers, ice machines, refrigerated display cases. Common refrigerants: R-404A (phasing out), R-448A, R-449A, R-454C.
Recommended HCPro kit:
- HCEC-6S 6 CFM Vacuum Pump — for small to mid refrigeration systems
- RPO-32 POE Oil
- Valve Core Removal Tool — critical for refrigeration service ports
Automotive A/C
Vehicle A/C systems. Common refrigerants: R-134a (vehicles pre-2015), R-1234yf (2015+). Verify OEM oil spec — most auto compressors use PAG, not POE.
