UV Dye Universal PAG Oil for R134a AC Systems – 8oz
Built-in dye glows under any UV inspection light — find the leak in minutes, no separate dye injection step
Blended to OEM compressor lubricant standards in the USA — same plant, same QC every bottle
Single-bottle service top-off for most R134a vehicles — typical job is 1–2 oz per circuit
Formulated to mix with PAG 46, PAG 100, and PAG 150 — works as top-off on any existing PAG system
Lubricate and diagnose in one bottle.
USA-manufactured for techs who waste hours chasing intermittent R134a leaks. The dye is already in the oil — top off the system, run it, and let the leak find itself under your UV light. No separate injection, no oil-and-dye mixing on the shop floor.
Leak detection by design
The fluorescent additive is blended into the oil at the manufacturing stage — meets SAE J2297 standards for visible UV leak detection. Skip the separate dye injector, skip the dosing math, skip the mess. Top off, run the system, walk around with a UV light, and the leak shows itself.
Universal viscosity, any PAG system
The 46–100 cSt blended viscosity is compatible with PAG 46, PAG 100, and PAG 150 — top off or full replacement on any domestic or imported R134a vehicle. One bottle on the truck covers the service call regardless of what's in the system.
USA-made, OEM-grade
Manufactured in the United States to OEM compressor lubricant performance standards. ASTM-tested for thermal stability, oxidation resistance, lubricity, and water tolerance. Same plant, same QC, every bottle — no imported chemistry sourcing. Compatible with standard manual injectors, dye tools, and shop service equipment.
Full Product Description
Universal PAG oil with built-in UV dye for R-134a A/C leak detection — formulated to blend with PAG 46, PAG 100, and PAG 150 systems. When you don't know what's in the compressor and you're chasing an intermittent leak, this is the bottle that goes in. Top off, run the system, and the dye shows you the leak under any UV light. Skip the separate dye injector, skip the dosing math.
HCPRO Performance Universal UV PAG is an 8 oz / 237 mL automotive A/C compressor lubricant + fluorescent leak detection additive. Universal viscosity blend (~46–100 cSt) mixes with any existing PAG grade. Built-in dye meets SAE J2297 UV detection standard. For R-134a systems in domestic and imported autos, light-duty trucks, and standard service equipment. NOT for R-1234yf, hybrid, or EV compressors.
Who this oil is for
Auto A/C techs chasing intermittent R-134a leaks. Mobile mechanics doing recharges where systems lose charge between visits. Fleet techs servicing mixed inventories where OEM PAG spec isn't always known. Independent shops that want one universal bottle instead of three viscosities.
When to use it
Add during recharge to diagnose slow leaks you can't visually locate. Inject 1–2 oz per circuit for diagnostic; refer to OEM spec for full compressor replacement (4–8 oz typical). Run A/C 10–15 minutes, inspect with UV light (365–400 nm) — leaks glow fluorescent green-yellow at fittings and seals. 8 oz covers 4–8 diagnostic jobs.
Why universal UV PAG vs grade-specific PAG
One bottle covers any PAG 46/100/150 system — no need to stock three viscosities. Built-in dye eliminates separate injection. For a known OEM viscosity spec, use grade-specific PAG (46/100/150 UV); for unknown systems or universal top-off, this is the answer.

Does HCPRO warranty the products?
Yes — every HCPRO product ships with a 1-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects. We'll replace the bottle if it fails to meet stated specs under normal use. See our full warranty terms.
How does the UV dye work for leak detection?
The fluorescent additive is blended into the oil at the factory. When you inject the oil into the system and run the A/C, the dye circulates with the refrigerant. At any leak point — a fitting, a hose, a seal — small amounts of dye escape with the refrigerant. Walk around the system with any standard UV inspection light and the leak glows fluorescent green-yellow. Meets SAE J2297 standards.
Will it work with R1234yf, hybrid, or EV compressors?
No. This is formulated for R134a systems only. R1234yf and A2L refrigerant systems require different oil chemistry (typically POE — see our RPO-32 Synthetic POE). Hybrid and EV A/C compressors require non-conductive ester-based oils. Using PAG in those systems can damage the compressor.
Can I mix this with the PAG that's already in the system?
Yes — that's the design intent. The universal viscosity blend (~46–100 cSt) is formulated to mix with PAG 46, PAG 100, and PAG 150 without separation or performance loss. Use it as a top-off when you don't know what grade is in the system, or as a full replacement on any R134a compressor.
Do I need a special UV flashlight to see the dye?
Any standard UV inspection light works — handheld UV-A flashlights, LED UV pens, or shop UV lamps in the 365–400 nm range. The dye fluoresces under broad UV-A. You don't need premium leak detection equipment — basic UV light works fine.
How much should I inject per system?
Typical R134a service is 1–2 oz per circuit for diagnostic use, or per OEM spec for full replacement. The 8 oz bottle covers 4–8 vehicles for diagnostic work, or 1–2 full compressor refills. Always check the OEM service spec for the specific vehicle — under-filling reduces lubrication, over-filling reduces refrigerant flow.
Will the UV dye stain interior surfaces or damage paint?
No. The fluorescent dye is water-soluble and non-staining at the concentrations used. If dye gets on shop towels or fabric, it washes out with soap and water. On paint or trim, wipe immediately with mild detergent — it doesn't bond to the surface.
Will using HCPRO products void my OEM warranty?
No. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975, an OEM cannot void your factory warranty for using compatible aftermarket fluids. This oil is spec'd to meet OEM compressor lubricant standards (ASTM, SAE). If a dealer pushes back, contact us and we'll send the documentation.
Can I return an unused bottle?
Yes — free returns within 30 days for unopened bottles in original packaging. Opened bottles can't be returned for resale (chemical product). Read our full return policy.
Do you offer bulk pricing for shops?
Yes. For orders of 6+ bottles we offer trade pricing. Email hcproproductsusa@gmail.com with your business details and we'll send a quote within 24 hours.
