Specific PAG grade (46, 100, or 150) — match exactly what the OEM service manual calls for

Why this oil

OEM-spec viscosity. UV diagnostic. One bottle.

USA-manufactured for techs who need to match the exact OEM compressor viscosity AND diagnose intermittent R134a leaks at the same time. The dye is already in the oil — top off the system with the right grade, run it, and let the leak find itself under your UV light.

Leak detection by design

The fluorescent additive is blended into the oil at the manufacturing stage — meets SAE J2297 standards for visible UV leak detection. Skip the separate dye injector, skip the dosing math, skip the mess. Top off, run the system, walk around with a UV light, and the leak shows itself.

Match the OEM viscosity spec

Unlike the Universal UV PAG (which blends 46/100/150 for unknown-system top-offs), this bottle is a specific viscosity grade. Use what the OEM service manual calls for — running the wrong grade shortens compressor life and reduces cooling efficiency. The right grade + UV dye = clean service.

USA-made, OEM-grade

Manufactured in the United States to OEM compressor lubricant performance standards. ASTM-tested for thermal stability, oxidation resistance, lubricity, and water tolerance. Same plant, same QC, every bottle — no imported chemistry sourcing.

Full Product Description

PAG 100 oil with UV dye for R-134a A/C systems — the standard viscosity grade for most domestic R-134a automotive compressors, with fluorescent dye built in for leak detection. The most common PAG-with-UV bottle you'll need on a service truck servicing American vehicles.

HCPRO Performance PAG 100 UV is an 8 oz / 237 mL standard-viscosity PAG compressor lubricant + UV leak detection dye. ISO VG 100 / ~98 SUS, polyalkylene glycol base, dye meets SAE J2297 leak-detection standards. For R-134a A/C systems specifying PAG 100 — most domestic vehicles (GM, Ford, Chrysler) and many imports. NOT for R-1234yf, hybrid, or EV compressors.

Who this oil is for

Auto A/C techs servicing domestic vehicles where OEM specifies PAG 100 (most common viscosity grade). Mobile mechanics, fleet service, independent repair shops. The go-to bottle for the majority of R-134a service work.

When to use it

During R-134a recharge when the OEM calls for PAG 100 AND you want leak detection in one step. Diagnostic top-off: 1–2 oz per circuit. Full compressor replacement: 4–8 oz per OEM spec. Inspect with UV-A light (365–400 nm) — leaks glow fluorescent green-yellow at the leak point.

Why PAG 100 UV vs Universal UV or PAG 46/150 UV

PAG 100 is the most-specified viscosity grade across domestic R-134a vehicles — running PAG 46 in a PAG 100 system reduces film strength under load; running PAG 150 increases drag and reduces cooling efficiency. When the OEM calls for 100, use 100. Universal UV blend is the safe choice when system viscosity is unknown.

Does HCPRO warranty the products?

Yes — every HCPRO product ships with a 1-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects. We'll replace the bottle if it fails to meet stated specs under normal use. See our full warranty terms.

How does the UV dye work for leak detection?

The fluorescent additive is blended into the oil at the factory. When you inject the oil into the system and run the A/C, the dye circulates with the refrigerant. At any leak point — a fitting, a hose, a seal — small amounts of dye escape with the refrigerant. Walk around the system with any standard UV inspection light and the leak glows fluorescent green-yellow. Meets SAE J2297 standards.

Will it work with R1234yf, hybrid, or EV compressors?

No. This is formulated for R134a systems only. R1234yf and A2L refrigerant systems require different oil chemistry (typically POE — see our RPO-32 Synthetic POE). Hybrid and EV A/C compressors require non-conductive ester-based oils. Using PAG in those systems can damage the compressor.

How is this different from the Universal UV PAG?

The Universal UV PAG is a blend of viscosities (~46–100 cSt) designed to top off systems when you don't know what grade is already in them. This bottle is a specific viscosity grade (PAG 46, PAG 100, or PAG 150) — use it when the OEM service manual calls for an exact grade and you want the leak-detection dye built in. Same UV functionality, more precise viscosity match.

Do I need a special UV flashlight to see the dye?

Any standard UV inspection light works — handheld UV-A flashlights, LED UV pens, or shop UV lamps in the 365–400 nm range. The dye fluoresces under broad UV-A. You don't need premium leak detection equipment — basic UV light works fine.

Which viscosity grade does my system need?

Check the OEM service spec for the specific vehicle or compressor. As a general guide: PAG 46 for light-pressure automotive R134a systems (often Asian imports), PAG 100 for standard R134a applications (most common in domestic vehicles and aftermarket), PAG 150 for heavy-duty automotive and light HVAC. When in doubt, use the OEM-specified grade.

Will the UV dye stain interior surfaces or damage paint?

No. The fluorescent dye is water-soluble and non-staining at the concentrations used. If dye gets on shop towels or fabric, it washes out with soap and water. On paint or trim, wipe immediately with mild detergent — it doesn't bond to the surface.

Will using HCPRO products void my OEM warranty?

No. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975, an OEM cannot void your factory warranty for using compatible aftermarket fluids. This oil is spec'd to meet OEM compressor lubricant standards (ASTM, SAE). If a dealer pushes back, contact us and we'll send the documentation.

Can I return an unused bottle?

Yes — free returns within 30 days for unopened bottles in original packaging. Opened bottles can't be returned for resale (chemical product). Read our full return policy.

Do you offer bulk pricing for shops?

Yes. For orders of 6+ bottles we offer trade pricing. Email hcproproductsusa@gmail.com with your business details and we'll send a quote within 24 hours.
