Why this oil

Right viscosity, right system, right every time.

USA-manufactured PAG compressor oil in the three grades real R134a service work demands. PAG 46 for low-pressure systems, PAG 100 for standard service, PAG 150 for heavy-duty and HVAC applications. Use what the OEM calls for — don't guess.

Match the OEM viscosity spec

R134a compressors are designed for a specific oil viscosity grade — using the wrong one shortens compressor life and reduces cooling efficiency. PAG 46 for lighter automotive systems, PAG 100 for the most common R134a applications, PAG 150 for heavy-duty automotive and light HVAC. Check the OEM service spec; we sell what you actually need.

USA-made, ASTM-tested

Manufactured in the United States to OEM compressor lubricant performance standards. Lab-tested for thermal stability (ASTM D2270), flash point (D92), pour point (D97), and lubricity (D2783). No imported chemistry, no surprise reformulations between batches.

Moisture and acid resistant

PAG-based lubricants resist hydrolytic breakdown — they don't degrade in the presence of water like mineral oils do. The formula prevents acid formation in the compressor, which is the #1 cause of premature compressor failure on poorly serviced R134a systems.

Full Product Description

PAG 46 compressor oil for R-134a A/C systems — light-viscosity polyalkylene glycol matched to OEM specs for imported and compact passenger vehicle compressors. Premium synthetic lubricant with superior thermal stability, low pour point, and acid-resistant chemistry.

HCPRO Performance PAG 46 is an 8 oz / 237 mL light-viscosity automotive A/C compressor lubricant. ISO VG 46 / SUS 150 / SUS 59 at 100°F, specific gravity 0.93, flash point 442°F, pour point -36°F, color white-clear. Meets ASTM D445, D2270, D92, D97, D974, D2783, ANSI-ASHRAE 97-1989, and FZG standards. For R-134a A/C systems specifying PAG 46 — many Asian imports, compact passenger vehicles, certain truck applications. NOT for R-1234yf, hybrid, or EV compressors (those require POE).

Who this oil is for

Auto A/C technicians servicing imports and compact vehicles where OEM specifies PAG 46. Mobile mechanics doing recharges on light-duty applications. Fleet shops servicing import inventories. Professional AC service shops and DIY mechanics.

When to use it

During R-134a A/C compressor service when the OEM calls for ISO VG 46 viscosity. Full compressor refill: 4–8 oz per OEM spec. Top-off after refrigerant recharge: 1–2 oz per circuit. Always verify the vehicle service manual — running the wrong viscosity grade shortens compressor life and reduces cooling efficiency.

Why PAG 46 vs PAG 100, PAG 150, or POE

PAG 46 is the correct match when the OEM specifies VG 46 — typically lighter-duty R-134a systems. PAG 100 for standard domestic vehicles; PAG 150 for heavy-duty. POE is for modern R-1234yf, R-410A, R-32, and A2L systems — not interchangeable with PAG. For leak detection in one step, use our PAG 46 UV variant.

Single 8 oz bottle, sealed leak-proof packaging, 2–3 year shelf life unopened. Manufactured in the USA to OEM compressor lubricant performance standards.

Common questions

Does HCPRO warranty the products?

Yes — every HCPRO product ships with a 1-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects. We'll replace the bottle if it fails to meet stated specs under normal use. See our full warranty terms.

Which viscosity grade does my system need?

Check the OEM service spec for the specific vehicle or compressor. As a general guide: PAG 46 for light-pressure automotive R134a systems (often Asian imports), PAG 100 for standard R134a applications (most common in domestic vehicles and aftermarket), PAG 150 for heavy-duty automotive and light HVAC. When in doubt, use the OEM-specified grade.

Will it work with R1234yf, hybrid, or EV compressors?

No. This is formulated for R134a systems only. R1234yf and A2L refrigerant systems require different oil chemistry (typically POE — see our RPO-32 Synthetic POE). Hybrid and EV A/C compressors require non-conductive ester-based oils. Using PAG in those systems can damage the compressor.

Can I mix viscosity grades (e.g., top off PAG 100 with PAG 46)?

Avoid mixing unless absolutely necessary. Each grade is engineered for a specific operating pressure range — mixing changes the effective viscosity, which can reduce cooling efficiency and shorten compressor life. If you need a universal top-off and don't know what's in the system, use our UV Dye Universal PAG Oil (formulated to blend with PAG 46/100/150 and detect leaks at the same time).

How long does an unopened bottle last?

Shelf life is 2–3 years sealed. PAG oils are hygroscopic (slowly absorb moisture from the air), so always store with the cap tight in a cool, dry place. Once opened, use within the service interval — don't leave half-bottles sitting on the shelf for months.

How much oil should I inject per system?

Per OEM service spec for full compressor replacement (typically 4–8 oz per system depending on vehicle). For routine top-off after recharging, 1–2 oz is standard. Under-filling reduces lubrication and shortens compressor life; over-filling reduces refrigerant flow and cooling. Always reference the specific OEM service manual.

What OEM brands is this equivalent to?

Spec'd to match the major OEM PAG compressor lubricants (Denso, Sanden, Delphi, Visteon, etc.). The ASTM standards on the label (D445, D2270, D92, D97, D974, D2783) are the same ones OEMs use to qualify their lubricants. If a customer asks for a specific brand, our PAG meets the same performance spec at a competitive price.

Will using HCPRO products void my OEM warranty?

No. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975, an OEM cannot void your factory warranty for using compatible aftermarket fluids. This oil is spec'd to meet OEM compressor lubricant standards. If a dealer pushes back, contact us and we'll send the documentation.

Can I return an unused bottle?

Yes — free returns within 30 days for unopened bottles in original packaging. Opened bottles can't be returned for resale (chemical product). Read our full return policy.

Do you offer bulk pricing for shops?

Yes. For orders of 6+ bottles we offer trade pricing. Email hcproproductsusa@gmail.com with your business details and we'll send a quote within 24 hours.
